Sarge is incredibly rare, he is actually the rarest farm animal in the world. He and his twin, Pepper, are among only two documented geep twins in the world. There is only one other set, in California. He’s such a spirited character and such a joy to be around. To prepare for the eventuality of a life saving blood transfusion, we’re setting up a trust for him shortly in a separate bank account, ready to cover his care when he needs the transfusion. When he gets to that point in the future it will be a sudden and urgent necessity.

Half sheep/half goat hybrids are extremely rare, and twins being born alive is a 1 in an astronomically high number. Almost unheard of. His birth was a miracle, and we want to be ready with another miracle when his blood condition becomes critical (as it will be).
But that aside he is such a lively, curious spirit makes him the life of the barn. He brings such joy to the sanctuary, and we are doing all we can to ensure he has the support he needs for a healthy future.
